Diocesan Pastoral Planning

The Diocesan Office of Pastoral Planning initiates and coordinates a planning process under the direction of Bishop Richard Gagnon and advice by the Diocese of Victoria Pastoral Planning Committee.

The pastoral planning office invites the people of the Diocese of Victoria to imagine them selves anew in our current time. In the September 2009 issue of the Diocesan Messenger, Bishop Richard announced a diocese-wide Pastoral Planning process to develop a Pastoral Plan for our Diocese for the next five years (2010-2015).
Guided by the Holy Spirit, clergy, religious and laity alike are asked to enter a time of discernment around the mission of the Church and together with the Bishop create a dynamic, life-giving vision for our future.

Areas of focus for the Office of Pastoral Planning include:

The Office of Pastoral Planning exists to support and facilitate this essential conversation within the parishes of the Diocese and encourage action on behalf of the mission of Christ for the future.  The Office of Pastoral Planning is responsible for collecting, organizing and analyzing data for pastoral planning purposes and other materials and resources as needed in order to communicate with diocesan employees, pastors and parishioners. Support for pastoral planning at the parish, region and diocesan level is provided. The Director of Pastoral Planning works closely with the Bishop in the development of policy and procedures regarding planning requirements.

The challenges for today are significant, but the opportunities are greater.  We pray to the Holy Spirit for wisdom and guidance throughout this process. We hope you will pray for an increase in vocations and the success of the planning process. We thank you for your faith, your vitality and your commitment.
