In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

A Weekend of "Communio"

It was a full weekend of communion, beginning Friday, January 16 with a dialogue and sharing time with Couples for Christ leadership in the Diocese of Victoria.

Saturday, January 17 was spent in conversation and time with candidates in the diaconate formation process; then an evening Mass at Sacred Heart parish with a fun potluck supper and time sharing with Sacred Heart youth.

Sunday was a beautiful day of sharing in the communion and dynamic challenges of ecumenism as St. Andrews Cathedral hosted the opening prayer service for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The Rev. John Steele, pastor of St. Dunstan’s Anglican parish, gave a wonderful talk to the congregation about the history of ecumenical Dialogue. Rev. Steele spoke of his own experiences, and also provided some theological perspectives toward the prayer of Jesus that we may be the ones who witness to the Gospel, and that we may be more visible and authentic in carrying out God’s work.

Sunday ended with a gathering and rich dialogue with families at St. Patrick’s parish, looking at ways for greater faith sharing and discernment of God’s will for their families.
