Building hope: Rosalie's Village
Prayers, blessings, and congratulations are extended to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, on the opening of Rosalie’s Village. This project combines townhomes and an apartment building on the site of the Society’s offices in Victoria, at Quadra Street and West Saanich Road. Rosalie’s Village provides supportive housing for single mothers with young children, and for women aged 40 – 55 who are at risk of homelessness, and also houses an on-site daycare facility, Mary’s Place. This is a much-needed service, offering hope to women who may be struggling for dignity and self worth as children of God.
I am delighted that the Society’s dream of opening this facility of merciful outreach has been realized, and ask for God’s blessing on staff and occupants as they work together to rebuild lives.
