ICS Announces Amalgamation of St. Andrew's Elementary School with St Joseph's School
A letter from SAE Principal, Keefer Pollard
September 23, 2012
Dear Brothers and Sisters of St. Andrew’s Cathedral Parish,
At a recent Strong Foundations for a Bright Future meeting, we have learned that the plans for updating our Catholic Schools have progressed to the point, where we have received notice that we will be amalgamating with St. Joseph’s School at the end of this 2012-2013 academic year.
It is with mixed feelings that we receive this news. For many of us, especially long time members of the St. Andrew’s Elementary Community and St. Louis’ alumni, it is the end of an era and a time of sadness. However, we are looking forward to schooling in an upgraded facility that meets seismic requirements and will be able to house enough students to continue to make Catholic education safe, affordable and accessible.
We are in a very similar situation to that of young people who have lived in their parents’ home for a long time, and are preparing to marry and create a new home. We are filled with joy and expectation for the future, sorrow for what me must leave in the past and some anxiety for the present.
We ask you, our parish brothers and sisters to keep us in your prayers as we see the Strong Foundations for a Bright Future plan to its completion and we continue to fulfill our mission of Catholic education and to “Build in Love.”
Keefer Pollard, Principal
