Diocese of Victoria Association of Catholic Leaders Inaugural Breakfast
In the fall of 2012, Bishop Richard Gagnon, working with a planning committee, developed a new initiative for the Diocese—the Association of Catholic Leaders (ACL). This Association is for Catholic leaders and business people in the Diocese of Victoria who are seeking support to consciously integrate their professional lives with their faith and family responsibilities.
Based on similar groups operating in the Archdiocese of Vancouver and in the United States, the Association of Catholic Leaders provides a venue at which Catholic professionals can gather for breakfast on a periodic basis and hear from speakers who will address how one can live a “unity of life”—where one’s faith guides one’s professional and personal responsibilities.
Members of the ACL value significance more than success. They are leaders who are fully capable and committed to seeing and seizing business opportunities, but never at the expense of their own soul or the loss of critical relationships.
The ACL provides those in a position of leadership, decision-making and influence with a forum for friendship, discussion, spiritual growth, and mutual support in meeting the demands of their responsibilities in the world together with those of their Catholic faith.
The ACL is open to any Catholic in a professional, business or leadership position on Vancouver Island.
