Dispatches from the North
This summer, I’m spending time in the northern part of the Diocese providing vacation coverage for Fr. Dino Villadiego, and enjoying the splendour of the Pacific Ocean. After Mass last Sunday at St. Bonaventure’s in Port Hardy, we enjoyed a potluck lunch together. Every month parishioners gather for a Sunday meal after celebrating the meal of the Lord’s supper. This is a wonderful, welcoming community of faith that ‘never met a stranger’.
At Our Lady of Assumption in Alert Bay, a small community of Catholics keeps the church and grounds in immaculate condition with such pride and good stewardship.
It is truly a delight to spend time in these beautiful surroundings, with such lovely and faithful people.
