Holy Spirit Keeps Us Moving Homeward

The Holy Spirit was “a-moving” at St. Ann’s Parish in the Cowichan Valley, when 19 children were confirmed in a wonderful liturgy on Sunday, February 15, 2015. A red blanket depicting a large fish was spread upon the ground in front of the Altar. Each child stepped forward to stand on this “new ground,” symbolized by the blanket, to be anointed with sacred Chrism oil.

Myra Charlie explained that the Holy Spirit will keep these newly confirmed young ones moving in a good way to their home, just like the salmon are always on the move heading home.

Srs. Vinda and Elisha, along with several catechists from the community, prepared the children for Confirmation with the assistance of Fr. Joe Prakash.
