It rains a lot in Tahsis
It rains a lot in the North Island. A lot. And over time, the rain has worked its way through the roof of St. Joseph’s church in the beautiful community of Tahsis.
St. Joseph’s is a Heritage building that was originally constructed in 1948. It features a breathtaking view of the Inlet. Recently, the parish raised $10,000 towards a new roof, to provide a safe and comfortable environment for those seated within. Others have generously contributed to this project as well: St. Patrick’s Parish in Campbell River contributed $4,000; Catholic Missions in Canada donated $5,000; and the Campbell River Mission Fund donated $5,000. With enough resources to redo the roof, crews have set to work.
The beautiful weather is holding, but we know the winter rains will soon settle back into the Inlet, and we are so very grateful for all those who contributed to St. Joseph’s new roof.
And if you haven’t been to Tahsis—it’s well worth the drive.
