Jesus, I'm Here ...

On Monday, May 11, 2015, Bishop Gary led Pastoral Centre and parish support staff in a retreat focusing on Workers in the Vineyard. Bishop Gary expressed his extreme gratitude for the work done by support staff throughout the Diocese, and challenged us to take Jesus with us into every exchange with those whom we serve. “Take three seconds before answering the phone; that’s all you need. Three seconds to say, ‘Jesus, I’m here.’”

The retreat session was followed with Mass, then all enjoyed a delicious lunch in the hall at Sacred Heart. Following lunch, long-service awards were presented by the Bishop and Cynthia Bouchard-Watkins (Chancellor). Afternoon presentations included information about the Diocesan Archives, Communications, and Digital Timesheets and Payroll Administration changes—not to mention some wonderful door prizes that caused great excitement!

Bishop Gary leads us on Retreat

Bishop Gary and Cynthia Bouchard-Watkins, Chancellor (L) handed out long service awards. When giving Joanie her 7-year award, the Bishop quipped, "Joanie has been working for me for 7 months ... it feels like 7 years!"

There were draw prizes, which made some of us REALLY excited!

Theresa Vogel, Manager of the Archives (L) and Rita Fichtner, Office Manager at St. Andrew's Cathedral (R), select the next winner.
