March for Life Victoria 2013
It was a brilliant day for this important act of witness to the sanctity of human life. Approximately 2,000 marchers, young and older, walked through Victoria from City Hall to the BC Legislature, joining with other events across the nation.
This year's theme was Stop Female Gendercide!—a public witness opposing selective abortions terminating the lives of unborn females in favour of males!
Estimates are given that over 200 million females are missing in the world because of this practice. It is a problem in our country that finds no voice among our legislators.
The event began with Mass at St. Andrew’s Cathedral and at St. Patrick's Parish with Archbishop Miller presiding—both churches were full! It was good to see the ecumenical nature of this event as well. Thank you to all who participated!
