Ordination to Diaconate of Michael Tran

On Friday, July 8, 2016, it was my great privilege to ordain Michael Tran to the Diaconate, at Christ the King parish in Courtenay. The joy of this day for Michael and his family was clearly evident by the beaming smiles all around.

I gave Michael a ‘Diocesan Apron’, telling him he would not likely get entry into people's homes or places of work wearing the dalmatic (the liturgical vestment of a deacon) but would certainly be welcomed with outstretched arms, wearing an apron, with his sleeves rolled up, ready to serve.

May God continue to bless you, Michael, on your journey to priesthood.
