“The whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul.” (Acts 4:32)

These words of St. Luke describe the fervency of communion among believers in the Early
Church as recorded in the Acts of the Apostles - a time when the Apostles were still alive.
This fundamental inner dynamism or “Koinonia” is what inspired St. Paul in his exhortation to the Christians at Ephesus, a generation later, to emulate the Church of the Apostles when he said:
I urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received... a call to the one Hope, one Lord, one Faith and one Baptism. (Eph. 4:5-6)
