Seeding the Future: Consecrated Life
Pope Francis has extended a global invitation to women and men religious to celebrate a Year of Consecrated Life. All over the world, events have been planned to raise awareness of what it means to live one’s baptismal call as a vowed member of a religious community. In the Catholic Diocese of Victoria, which includes Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, women and men religious, who represent many different communities and orders, have already met twice this year for prayer and sharing.
The Sisters of St. Ann are celebrating the occasion by organizing a conference on consecrated life for October 16-17. This conference, Seeding the Future: Consecrated Life, is primarily for the Religious of the Diocese and will take place in Victoria. The invitation has also been extended to the Anglican Sisters in Victoria as well as Religious from other parts of British Columbia. The weekend will be led by well-known guest speakers, Margo Ritchie of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph and Sean Sammon of the Marist Brothers.
We rejoice in this opportunity for renewal and recommitment to a consecrated life of joy as Pope Francis encourages us to 'wake up the world'.
