Bruna Perusi
St. Patrick's Parish, Oak Bay

In 1967, Bruna Perusi settled in Victoria with her husband, John, and their three children. Looking for a Catholic church, Bruna stumbled upon St. Patrick’s on Haultain where Fr. Joseph Jackson welcomed her and her family.

Bruna and her husband eventually became custodians at St. Patrick’s school where 'Mrs. Perusi' became respected for her work ethic, her ability to take unusual occurrences in her stride, and for her warm and open disposition. Many students remember her kindness, generosity, and ‘listening ear’. Bruna considered her job a vocation; able to connect with people from all walks of life in the school.

At St. Patrick's Parish, she is a 40-year member of the Catholic Women's League, regularly visits the Sisters of St. Ann, assists the Knights of Columbus in their Parish activities, helps to organize the Annual Bazaar, and provides hospitality services for the Parish. She has been “Grandma” to the Parents and Tots group for over 25 years, and her loving presence at funeral receptions and willingness to listen have been a great comfort to bereaved families.
