Mary Hof
St. Edward the Confessor Parish, Duncan

Mary Hof was baptized at St. Edward’s, is married to Gerry Hof. They have three children and three grandchildren. Mary stayed with the parish through the years when many young people were leaving the church. She attended the parish youth group and became involved with youth softball where she met her husband. Together, they were youth leaders and assisted Fr. Bob Kelly in presenting talks on sexuality to teens.

Noted for her sense of adventure, Mary has led the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday from St. Ann's Church to the top of Mt. Tzouhalem for 25 years. This involves a hike the day before to place the markers for the 14 stations, then leading the Stations hike to the top where they venerate a cross carried in the procession. She has also organized mystery tours to strengthen the bonds between parishioners, has been an ExtraOrdinary Minister of Holy Communion for 15 years, served on the Pastoral Council, including as Council Chair for five years, trained Altar Servers, is a Catholic Women's League member, and has assisted with humanitarian aid for third-world countries working with the parish of St. Peter and Paul (in Tanzania) for five years to establish a medical dispensary in 2002. The dispensary is still in operation today.
