Paul Redchurch
St. Patrick's Parish, Oak Bay

Paul came to Victoria in 1957. He joined the Cathedral Seghers’ Catholic Youth Organization, served as its president, and was a founding member of St. Joseph’s Parish.

Paul was Grand Knight of the Victoria Council (#1256) while in his 20s; chairman of the St Patrick’s Mens’ Club; member of the first St Patrick’s Pastoral Council, as charter Grand Knight and State Deputy for BC & Yukon, formed the St. Patrick’s Knights of Columbus (#7934) in 1982, and served as Administrator of the Knights of Columbus (BC) Charity Foundation, becoming the ‘face’ of the Knights for decades.

In the 1970s, Paul served two terms on St. Patrick's School Council, was the founding editor of St Patrick’s Parish Life magazine, team leader for the "Brick Fund" that raised $60,000 to build science labs at St. Andrew’s High School in the 1980s, was choir member, Lector, Usher, served as Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, and as an artist, donated several paintings for fundraisers in church and the school. In the words of a parishioner, Paul has been the guiding light behind the Knights of Columbus at St. Patrick’s, with a great sense of humour, and one who believes in "living on in the happy memories that you give to others."
