Phil Jennings
Diocese of Victoria

Phil Jennings was born in 1953 in Barrie, Ontario. His father was in the Armed Forces, so his childhood was spent in various parts of the world. Phil moved to Duncan in 1981 and became a Catholic in 1985. In 1987 he married Mary Claire and they have four children, four granddaughters and two great grandsons.

In 2003, Phil graduated with a Diploma in Ministry from St. Francis Xavier University, Nova Scotia. Since then, he has served as Adult Faith Formation Facilitator.

As an active member of St. Edward’s Parish, he serves as Lector, ExtraOrdinary Minister of Holy Communion, and Sacristan. He was the Pastoral Council Chair for five years, Liturgy Chair, Master of Ceremonies for special occasions, and has served on various Diocesan Committees under the Bishop of Victoria. Phil is currently the Chair of the Catholic Foundation of Vancouver Island, and is listed as one of the Independent Ombudsmen for BC Catholic Schools.
