Roland Wauthy
Diocese of Victoria

Roland was born in Belgium in 1944, the ninth of eleven children. In 1948, his family settled in Victoria and into life at St. Andrew’s Cathedral for 60 years.

In the early years, Roland and Marian were in the Charismatic Prayer Group that met in the basement of St. Andrew's. Over time, Roland served as an Altar Server, Lector, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, on the Finance Committee, the Liturgy Committee, and the Pastoral Council. Roland was also elected onto the Board of Directors for Catholic Education for the Diocese of Victoria, and as the representative of St. Andrew's School on the Pastoral Council where he served for many years.

Roland is also an active member of the Knights of Columbus, having served as Grand Knight, District Deputy, State Membership Director, and as Faithful Navigator of Bishop Demers Assembly. He received a Medal of Merit from the BC, Yukon and Washington State for his contributions to the Church and the community. Now at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish with his wife, Marian, children and grandchildren, Roland is Chairman of the Pastoral Council, Sacristan for weekday Masses, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, and Lector.
