Our Faith Journey: Preparing Young Children for Celebrating the Sacraments

Celebrating Confirmation

Faith typically has its first stirrings and nurturing in the family. In addition to school and parish programs for children’s sacramental preparation, parents need the support of the greater faith community. Directly involving them in their child’s formation helps parents grow in appreciation of their own faith by providing tools for speaking and learning about the faith with their children.

The booklet A Parent Resource: Celebrating Confirmation (available by clicking on the link above) is designed to address the questions that may arise from parents and their children who are preparing to complete the Sacraments of Initiation. It answers many questions, such as: What is Confirmation? What are the Sacraments of Initiation? Who is the minister of the Sacrament of Confirmation? Why do they call it the Restored Order?
