The Diocesan Archives is the official repository for the records and artifacts which have historical, cultural, and/or leadership/long term significance to the Diocese in the pursuit of its mission. The Archives of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Victoria collects, preserves, conserves, and makes available, as appropriate, those records or materials which reflect the history and tradition of the Church in the Diocese from its beginning in 1846.  

The Archives of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Victoria is a dedicated archives, that is, solely concerned with the church and church activities on the island, and in its former territories.  As such, holdings are completely subject to the oversight and direction of the Diocese, while also being compliant with all relevant civic statutes.

REQUEST INFORMATION  

Prior to submitting a request for information, please review the Archives Policy in the section above and complete the relevant forms. All requests must be submitted in writing to the Manager of the Archives.

VOLUNTEER  

Do you have an interest in the fascinating spiritual and secular history of the Diocese? Please contact the Manager of Archives for further information about volunteering. All volunteers will be expected to subscribe to, and accept, current Diocesan policy concerning Responsible Ministry and Safe Environment guidelines for volunteers.
