Course Goals for Engaged Couples

This online course is designed to increase your awareness of what a Catholic marriage entails: that is, the free and able consent of both parties to a lifelong, faithful, and fruitful union before God. The course will give you opportunities to discuss these and other significant issues in the context of the Catholic Church’s teachings as you prepare for a life of married love together. It seeks to provide you with ideas that will inform and inspire you as you grow in understanding and knowledge of the vocation of marriage, and of each other. Love calls you together and to be open. True openness will strengthen your love and also your faith in God and in each other.

Course Structure

The course consists of several modules on relevant subjects such as personality differences and communication, finances, spirituality and faith, sexuality, and children. It includes individual and couple activities and assessments, video presentations, and quizzes.

The course is fully asynchronous, which means couples can start and complete at their own pace.

The cost is $80 per couple. This fee includes access to the course, which is hosted on Canvas, as well as one copy per couple of the booklet The Order of Celebrating Matrimony: Liturgy Planning Guide.
