Marriage Preparation Course
This course is designed to increase your knowledge of the Catholic Church's teaching on marriage and family, and to deepen your awareness of what a Catholic marriage entails, that is, the free and able consent of both parties to a lifelong, faithful and fruitful union before God.
It will give you opportunities to discuss significant issues and provide you with ideas that will inform and inspire you as you grow in understanding and knowledge of the vocation of marriage, and of each other. The course content and expectations are comprehensive and also respectful of the engaged couple's privacy. Non-Catholics are welcome to take the course, as are couples who are not yet engaged but considering marriage.
Topics include: self-knowledge and expectations; communication; marital intimacy; sexuality and creating a family; the sacrament of marriage and the wedding ceremony; finances and faith; and conflict resolution.
Couples who successfully complete the course will receive, via email, a joint Certificate of Completion.
If you belong to another (arch)diocese, please ask your parish priest whether this course will be accepted in your jurisdiction before signing up.
Zoom Synchronous Marriage Preparation Courses
We offer the Marriage Preparation Course periodically over Zoom throughout the year. The cost is $75 per couple, which includes access to the Zoom sessions, and one copy per couple of the book What God Has Joined, which will be mailed to each couple before the course begins.
After completing the course, each couple will receive via email a pdf of their joint certificate of completion.
