News from the Chancery is published each week to share information and upcoming events with the people of the Diocese of Victoria.

We have 3 items to share with you today:

1)  On June 21, 2024, National Indigenous Day, Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc, the Archdiocese of Vancouver, and the Diocese of Kamloops shared the Sacred Covenant they signed on Easter Sunday 2024.  Kúkpi7 Rosanne Casimir, Archbishop Miller, and Bishop Nguyen encourage all Canadians to work towards deepening relationships between communities and finding ways to help Indigenous individuals and families negatively impacted by destructive policies, both current and historical. To learn more and to read the Sacred Covenant, please visit ​

2) Congratulations to Fr. Joseph Yuson who was ordained to the ministerial priesthood on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at St. Andrew’s Cathedral.  A recording of the ordination Mass is available online at ​  Your prayers for Joseph and his intentions are appreciated as he begins his service as a ministerial priest to the People of God in the Diocese of Victoria.

3) Registration is still open for​ the 10th​Annual Family Life Conference and Camp, to be held August 15th– 18th​at Nanoose Bay. ​All families are invited to enjoy this weekend full of fellowship, faith and fun!
