13 Catechists from the Diocese of Victoria recently earned their Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) Level 1 Certificate.
The group participated in a total of 90 hours of formation in July 2025 and 2026. Formation courses took place at the first Diocese of Victoria CGS atrium, a carefully prepared sacred space, at Queen of Angels School/St. Edward’s parish community.
The second diocesan Level 1 CGS atrium is scheduled to open in mid September at the beautiful, new St. Joseph’s School Early Learning Centre/St. Joseph the Worker parish community.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a profound method of faith formation for children based on sacred scripture and liturgy and grounded in the principles of Montessori.
Catechists accompany children ages 3-6 years in a specially prepared environment where the Holy Spirit is the teacher leading each child to encounter Jesus, the Good Shepherd.
