Joint Statement from CCCB and Canadian Council of Imams condemning Sri Lanka terrorist attacks

In response to the terrorist attacks of 21 April 2019 (Easter Sunday) in Sri Lanka, the CCCB has issued a joint statement with the Canadian Council of Imams (CCI) condemning the attacks, and offering "prayers for all the victims of this terrorist attack and with a united voice rejecting all forms of hatred, violence, and discord."

The CCCB President has also written to the Most Reverend Julian Winston Sebastian Fernando, S.S.S., Bishop of Badulla and President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Sri Lanka, offering prayers and condolences on behalf of the Catholic Bishops of Canada.

The Canadian Council of Imams released a separate letter in response to the attacks noting "CCI condemns the terrorist attacks that shook the small nation of Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday taking the innocent lives of Christian worshippers and tourists."
