On Trinity Sunday, June 7, 2020, Most Reverend J. Michael Miller CSB released a Pastoral Letter in response to the recent demonstrations against racial discrimination.
Following the tragic killing of George Floyd on May 25, 2020, and subsequent global response of massive demonstrations against racial discrimination, Most Reverend Miller, Archbishop of Vancouver, released a Pastoral Letter on Trinity Sunday.
In his Pastoral Letter, Archbishop Miller reminds us that "The faithful have an obligation in charity to address the suffering and injustice experienced by any of our brothers and sisters." In the words of Pope Francis, which Archbishop Miller also quotes in his letter: "We cannot tolerate or turn a blind eye to racism and exclusion in any form and yet claim to defend the sacredness of every human life."
